FM Qureshi writes letter to UNSC president, secretary-general

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has written a letter to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) president and secretary-general for updating them on the grave situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), d on Wednesday. FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi updated UNSC on the grave situation in IIOJK including illegal demographic changes, the Foreign Office (FO) said in a statement today. SHC accepts PPP leader Khurshid Shah’s plea for hearing

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has accepted the plea of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah for the hearing which was filed against the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) supplementary reference in assets beyond income case, on Wednesday. The lawyer of Khursheed Shah said that SHC bench fixed the hearing of the petition against NAB’s supplementary reference in assets beyond income case. The petition will be heard on December 2 and the high court also issued notices to NAB director-general, investigation officer and prosecutor. The petition stated that a supplementary reference could not be filed under NAB Ordinance 1999. It is pertinent to mention here that NAB Sukkur had sent a supplementary reference against the PPP politician to the headquarters for its approval from the chairman. 3,009 new corona cases report in pakistan within 24 hrs

Pakistan has recorded fresh 3,009 COVID-19 cases and 59 deaths due to the virus in the last 24 hours, on Wednesday. In the past 24 hours, 59 more people succumbed to the disease, taking the death toll to 7,803. 1,214 patients have recovered from the virus during the last 24 hours and 1,867 patients are in critical condition. According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), with fresh inclusion of the infections in the country the national tally of cases now currently stands at 382,892, whereas, the active cases stood at 42,115. A total of 41,583 tests were conducted across the country during this period. 332,974 people have recovered from the deadly disease while 5,297,703 samples have been tested thus far. The PTI is all set to form the government in Gilgit Baltistan after having secured 22 of its 33 seats, according to the official results announced by the region's election commission on Tuesday. The PPP and PML-N — both of which have levelled allegations of rigging — hold five and three seats, respectively. In all, the GB Assembly has 33 seats — 24 of which are contested through directed elections; six are reserved for women and three others reserved for technocrats and professionals. Political parties can nominate their candidates to the latter through proportional representation.
