Zardari, Faryal ’s indictment in two NAB references deferred again

An Accountability Court on Wednesday deferred indictment of former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur in money laundering and Pink Residency references. The court put off proceedings of indictment in NAB references till August 07 due to absence of former president’s counsel Farooque H. Naik. It is to be mentioned here that the court had earlier fixed July 29 for indictment of Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur in money laundering and Pink Residency references. An assistance counsel appeared on behalf of Naik and sought a date of hearing after August 05. He informed the court that Farooque Naik could not appear in court due to the Senate session in Muzaffarabad scheduled on August 05. The court also approved a petition of Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur seeking exemption from appearing in the case proceedings. All shrines reopen after Eid-ul-Azha in Sindh

Sindh Minister for Auqaf and Irrigation, Suhail Anwar Siyal, said on Wednesday that all shrines in the province, including Hazrat Qalandar-Lal-Shahbaz, will be opened for public with standard operating procedures after Eid-ul-Azha. He said this while talking to media at Sehwan in Jamshoro district here on Wednesday.The minister also paid a visit to a Shrine Hazrat Qalandar-Lal-Shahbaz. The government of Sindh had earlier decided to reopen the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalander for visitors under Standard Operating Procedures. The decision was taken by Sindh government after consultation with the Auqaf department in May. The shrine was closed on March 14 by the provincial government to stop the spread of deadly coronavirus. It is to be noted that here that annual urs of Sufi saint Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, scheduled to take place at the shrine in Sehwan Sharif from April 12 was also canceled. American actor Ramy Youssef is over the moon after bagging an Emmy nod for his comedy series Ramy which has become the first Muslim American sitcom to get nominated. The Egytpian-American co-creator of the Hulu series was nominated in the categories of Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series. Talking about the massive achievement, Youssef told that the feeling was ‘surreal’. “I'm super thankful, it's very surreal definitely. It's so cool because really any nomination on this and to be able to get three it's just representative of everyone who has worked so hard on the show. To me even like an acting nomination is a nomination for the whole show and for everyone who worked so hard on it,” he said. Police arrests female Medical student's abductor in Faisalabad

Police on Tuesday claimed to have apprehended an accused allegedly involved in kidnapping a female student of a medical varsity for ransom in Faisalabad. According to police, a female medical student was abducted from Jaranwala Road in Faisalabad a day before and her captors initially demanded a ransom of Rs 20 million. However, she was released after her family paid a ransom of Rs 6 million. The police claimed to arrest one of the alleged captors and had shifted him to an undisclosed location for further interrogation into the matter. In another kidnapping incident involving a person from the medical profession in the city, a doctor kidnapped by unidentified persons on 07 April 2019 from Faisalabad’s Gulistan Colony was recovered in a dramatic manner the next day. According to details, the doctor was kidnapped outside a local bakery by the culprits.
