Metro bus service and Markets in Rawalpindi partially closed due to banned TLP protest
Rawalpindi administration has suspended metro bus service from Saddar to Faizabad for two days and closed all road linking to Murree Road in view of protest of by banned outfit.

According to details, all markets of the city are also partially closed as protestors of the banned outfit continue their march to the federal capital.

Government has suspended mobile phone and internet service in several areas of Punjab and citizens are facing severe difficulties as protestors have closed both sides of the GT Road near Kamoke.

CM Buzdar chairs key meeting to review law and order situation

Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday has chaired a key meeting in connection with ongoing protest of banned outfit.

During the meeting, the CM was briefed over the law and order situation across the province while he also reviewed security arrangements for the protection of the citizens.

Meanwhile, CM Buzdar directed the concerned authorities to take strict action against those involved in extremism.

Provincial law minister Raja Basharat, chief secretary and Punjab inspector general were also present in the meeting.

Rangers given powers to maintain law and order in Punjab for 60 days: Sh Rashid

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that Rangers have been given powers to maintain law and order situation in Punjab for the next 60 days.

Talking to media in Islamabad, he said that Punjab government has been given authority for 60 days under Anti-Terror Act and Rangers have been summoned for 60 days under Article 147.

The minister said that the Punjab government has been given authority to use Rangers wherever it wants for next 60 days.

The development came during a meeting of Opposition party leaders in Islamabad, where they decided to form a committee that would draft a plan of action to move the no-confidence motion. Former PM's close aide Shahzad Akbar's name placed on ECL

The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Both names were included in the ECL based on cases pertaining to a private housing scheme. Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said on Friday that Pakistan has so far managed to cope with the increase in critical care Covid-19 patients by proactively building the capacity of the entire system. In a series of tweets, the federal minister said that the total number of critical care patients who were being provided oxygen had reached 5,360 on Thursday. "This is a 57 per cent more than the peak in June 2020," he said, adding that so far this increase had been handled due to "proactively building capacity of the entire system from oxygen production to beds". "Total oxygen production operational capacity in Pakistan last year was 487 tonnes per day.
