Kashmir Solidarity Day: PM Imran urges world to hold India accountable for crimes against humanity
In his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday reiterated that Pakistan stands united with Kashmiri brothers and sisters and urged the international community to take notice of India's crimes against humanity.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the premier wrote: "Modi’s fascist policies of oppression [and] violence have failed to crush the spirit of the Kashmiri resistance in Indian-Occupied Kashmir (IoK).
The premier stressed that it is time the world takes notice of India's grave human rights violations in IoK which include crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocidal acts as well as the threat of forced demographic change.

"All these are in complete violation of the Geneva Conventions," he underlined, adding that it is the international community's responsibility to ensure an impartial plebiscite in Kashmir.
PM Imran Khan wrote: "The world must not ignore the plight of the people of IoK and their undeniable desire to free themselves from the Indian state's draconian military occupation."
In a separate statement to mark the day, he said: “It is time for the international community to make India accountable for its heinous crimes in IoK and to work towards a just and peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people."

Every year, Pakistan commemorates Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 to reaffirm its unwavering support to the Kashmiris in their just struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination.

North Korea imported more than 1 million facial masks and 15,000 pairs of rubber gloves from China in July, shortly before declaring victory over Covid-19, Chinese trade showed on Saturday. Pyongyang last week declared victory over the coronavirus, ending a little-detailed fight against “fever” cases that had risen to 4.77 million. It has registered no new such cases since July 29. Still, China exported 1.23 million facial masks to North Korea in July, worth $44,307, surging from 17,000 the previous month, according to data released by Chinese customs. The spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban on Monday declared that the war in the country is over, saying that the group desires peaceful relations with the world. The statement comes a day after the Afghan Taliban entered Kabul as President Ashraf Ghani left the country, saying he wanted avoid bloodshed and conflict. Western sanctions against Russia could cause the International Space Station to crash, the head of Russian space agency Roscosmos warned on Saturday, calling for the punitive measures to be lifted. According to Dmitry Rogozin, the sanctions, some of which predate Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, could disrupt the operation of Russian spacecraft servicing the ISS. Pakistan Army on Monday continued its relief and rescue operation in Karachi, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the Army personnel removed rainwater from underpasses located at Golimar, Golimar and KPT, adding that these underpasses have been reopened for traffic. However, the dewatering process was continued in various areas inundated with rainwater, read the statement. The Army personnel were also shifting vehicles trapped in rainwater to safe locations and removing other obstacles from the major thoroughfares in order to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city. Sindh govt seeks army's help in implementation of coronavirus SOPs

The government of Sindh has sought help from the Pakistan Army in implementing coronavirus SOPs as cases of the virus surge across the country. The provincial government has written to the Ministry of Interior, seeking the army's help for the civil administration under Article 245 of the Constitution. Sindh government said it would inform the interior ministry about details regarding troop employment and equipment after holding consultations over the matter. President Dr Arif Alvi Thursday signed the Election (Amendment) Bill, 2021, which had earlier been passed by the Parliament and asked opposing voices not to be afraid of “simple” electronic voting machines (EVMs) which he hoped would help in holding a fair election and bringing an end to rigging. “People will have to trust it.
