Opposition parties won’t let the PTI leadership to leave Pakistan: Maryam Nawaz
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz on Thursday has termed the hike in petroleum products prices as shameful.

Talking to media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), the PML-N leader said that inflation, lawlessness and terrorism are returning to the country during the tenure of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has to be made accountable for every single penny as the list of his crimes is vast, she added.

Maryam Nawaz said he (Imran Khan) is the only PM who travels from Bani Gala to PM House on helicopter. The premier has done nothing except misusing government expenses to take revenge from his opponents, she alleged.

The PML-N leader revealed that PTI ministers personally attacked her to please their PM. You are not a king of any state that we cannot condemn your acts. If you do something that is not in the interest of the country, you will face criticism, she clarified.

Maryam Nawaz further warned that the opposition parties won’t let the PTI leadership to leave Pakistan.

Earlier, the PML-N vice president took to the Twitter to react to the arrest of journalist Mohsin Baig, stating that the houses of innocent citizens are raided for criticism on PM

“Imran Khan is not someone descended from the sky on whose criticism, the houses of citizens are raided and people put behind the bar,” she wrote on her social media handle

North Korea imported more than 1 million facial masks and 15,000 pairs of rubber gloves from China in July, shortly before declaring victory over Covid-19, Chinese trade showed on Saturday. Pyongyang last week declared victory over the coronavirus, ending a little-detailed fight against “fever” cases that had risen to 4.77 million. It has registered no new such cases since July 29. Still, China exported 1.23 million facial masks to North Korea in July, worth $44,307, surging from 17,000 the previous month, according to data released by Chinese customs. The spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban on Monday declared that the war in the country is over, saying that the group desires peaceful relations with the world. The statement comes a day after the Afghan Taliban entered Kabul as President Ashraf Ghani left the country, saying he wanted avoid bloodshed and conflict. Western sanctions against Russia could cause the International Space Station to crash, the head of Russian space agency Roscosmos warned on Saturday, calling for the punitive measures to be lifted. According to Dmitry Rogozin, the sanctions, some of which predate Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, could disrupt the operation of Russian spacecraft servicing the ISS. Pakistan Army on Monday continued its relief and rescue operation in Karachi, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the Army personnel removed rainwater from underpasses located at Golimar, Golimar and KPT, adding that these underpasses have been reopened for traffic. However, the dewatering process was continued in various areas inundated with rainwater, read the statement. The Army personnel were also shifting vehicles trapped in rainwater to safe locations and removing other obstacles from the major thoroughfares in order to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city. Sindh govt seeks army's help in implementation of coronavirus SOPs

The government of Sindh has sought help from the Pakistan Army in implementing coronavirus SOPs as cases of the virus surge across the country. The provincial government has written to the Ministry of Interior, seeking the army's help for the civil administration under Article 245 of the Constitution. Sindh government said it would inform the interior ministry about details regarding troop employment and equipment after holding consultations over the matter. President Dr Arif Alvi Thursday signed the Election (Amendment) Bill, 2021, which had earlier been passed by the Parliament and asked opposing voices not to be afraid of “simple” electronic voting machines (EVMs) which he hoped would help in holding a fair election and bringing an end to rigging. “People will have to trust it. It involves no advancement. It is too simple. The country achieves progress by adopting new things,” the president said while addressing a ceremony.
