Pakistan reports 641 covid cases in last 24 hours
Pakistan has reported two deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of confirmed positive cases has surged to 1,535,785. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 30,395 on Thursday.

According to the latest figures by the National Institute of Health (NIH), at least 641 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 across the country in the past 24 hours.

Pakistan has conducted 18,813 tests in the past 24 hours out of which 641 persons were tested positive for the disease. The COVID Positivity Ratio was recorded at 3.41 percent.

The Opposition has decided to jointly move a no-confidence motion against National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, sources said Wednesday, after two days of ruckus in the Lower House. The development came during a meeting of Opposition party leaders in Islamabad, where they decided to form a committee that would draft a plan of action to move the no-confidence motion. The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Both names were included in the ECL based on cases pertaining to a private housing scheme.
