Imran Khan destroyed Pakistan’s economy: Maryam

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Wednesday said Imran Khan established "GPEC — the Gogi-Pinky economic corridor", adding that he kept on robbing Punjab through his family.

Addressing a jalsa in Layyah ahead of the by-polls in 20 constituencies of Punjab, scheduled to be held on July 17, Maryam said that Khan was only focused on converting his residence Bani Gala into “Money Gala”.

She accused Farah Khan — a close aide of former first lady Bushra Bibi — of destroying Punjab. “Imran Khan, now you will have to cry because it is payback time. The people of Pakistan were crying when you were in power,” she said, adding that the nation knows who is to be held accountable for creating a mess in the country.

Regarding the news that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asked the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to submit a summary regarding reducing the price of petroleum products in line with a decline in the international market, Maryam said: “Good days are coming.”

The PML-N leader announced that no electricity bills will be received by all those people who consume less than 100 units of electricity.

 “I will not sit peacefully until people of Layyah are living a peaceful life,” she said, adding that inflation will now reduce.

Commenting on the upcoming elections, she asserted that "lions will roar on July 17 in Punjab as PML-N will contest against rising inflation brought by a jackal."

Taliban declare war in Afghanistan over, call for peaceful relations with world

The spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban on Monday declared that the war in the country is over, saying that the group desires peaceful relations with the world. North Korea imported more than 1 million facial masks and 15,000 pairs of rubber gloves from China in July, shortly before declaring victory over Covid-19, Chinese trade showed on Saturday. Pyongyang last week declared victory over the coronavirus, ending a little-detailed fight against “fever” cases that had risen to 4.77 million. It has registered no new such cases since July 29. Still, China exported 1.23 million facial masks to North Korea in July, worth $44,307, surging from 17,000 the previous month, according to data released by Chinese customs. From January to July, the last month for which data is available, the North bought more than 11.93 million masks from China, data showed. North Korea did not import any Covid-19 prevention and control products from China in May, the data showed. Sindh govt seeks army's help in implementation of coronavirus SOPs

The government of Sindh has sought help from the Pakistan Army in implementing coronavirus SOPs as cases of the virus surge across the country. The provincial government has written to the Ministry of Interior, seeking the army's help for the civil administration under Article 245 of the Constitution. Sindh government said it would inform the interior ministry about details regarding troop employment and equipment after holding consultations over the matter.
