No extensions for US evacuations in Afghanistan: Zabihullah Mujahid

Image
A Taliban spokesman says the US must complete its evacuation of people from Afghanistan by the August 31 date the Biden administration set for the withdrawal of all American troops. Addressing a press conference, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said his group would accept no extensions to the deadline. He said life was returning to normal in the country but chaos at the airport remained a problem. Many Afghans are desperate to flee the Taliban takeover of the country. The spokesman said the United States should stop evacuating skilled Afghans, and warned Western forces against extending the Aug 31 deadline for airlifts out of the country.  The group said Americans were taking “Afghan experts” such as engineers out of the country. “They have planes, they have the airport, they should get their citizens and contractors out of here,” said Mujahid. The Taliban leader also said female Afghan government workers should stay home until security conditions in the country improved.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh’s Secretary and former finance minister Miftah Ismail has tendered resignation from his party office, citing sources. Miftah Ismail has dispatched the copy of his resignation from the PML-N Sindh office to the party’s supremo Nawaz Sharif and President PML-N Shehbaz Sharif, sources said. According to sources, Miftah Ismail was disappointed over lack of action by the party leadership against the people vandalizing the party’s office in Karachi in a recent incident. Party’s President Shehbaz Sharif had formed a committee to inquire into the rioting incident at the party’s office, Muslim League House, in Karsaz. Is Shahid Afridi replacing Sarfaraz Ahmed as Quetta Gladiators captain next PSL?

Image
Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar on Tuesday said that former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi told him that he would join his Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise for the seventh season of the tournament. "Shahid Afridi has also remained a part of the Galle Gladiators (a team which Omar owns as well) in the Lankan Premier League," the franchise owner said. Omar said former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed is the incumbent captain, but if he were to voluntarily step down, "we can appoint Afridi in his place". "In technique, Sarfaraz is number one," Omar added. Quetta Gladiators' dream of winning a second PSL title was snuffed out last month after they crashed out of the tournament with Multan Sultans defeating them. The Sarfaraz-led side did not perform well in the PSL 6, winning only two of the 10 matches they played in the tournament — finishing at the bottom of the points table. from latest-news - SUCH TV https://ift.tt/2WkI3n4

He said that his client is 73 years old and suffers from diabetes, along with heart and kidney diseases. Therapy Works employees had initially detained Zahir Jaffer and then handed him over to the police, the lawyer argued, adding that the charges against him are bailable.
