Medical Education in Pakistan (MBBS/BDS)


Eligibility Criteria for MBBS:
  • Minimum 70% marks, in higher secondary school certificate (HSSC) or F.Sc (Pre-medical) or equivalent examination having a minimum of twelve years of education.
  • Minimum 70% marks in aggregate in, an examination of a course from a foreign university or examining body or foreign education system with at least three science subjects i.e. biology, chemistry and either physics or mathematics and such course must have been duly certified by the inter-boards Committee (IBCC) or F.Sc or intermediate level of Pakistan.
  • All Pakistani Nationals including citizens of AJK/ GB.

  Weightage Formula for Admission
  • F.Sc (Pre-medical) HSSC/ Equivalent (50%)
  • Entrance Test (50%)
  For Admission on Open Merit Seats
  • Minimum 70% marks, in HSSC or F.Sc (Pre-medical) or equivalent examination having a minimum of twelve years of education.
  • Minimum 60% marks, in entrance test.
  • Minimum 70% Aggregate – MBBS.
  • All Pakistani Nationals including citizens of AJK/ GB.
For Admission on Foreign/Dual National/Overseas Quota Seats
Foreign national/ dual national/ overseas (being a Pakistani citizen permanently resident in a foreign country) Pakistani student, and who has studied and passed HSSC 12th grade examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan and is a resident of a foreign country at the time of applying for admission and possess a certificate from the institution last attended to this effect having completed the last two years of schooling from abroad.
  • SAT-II Exam with a minimum of 550 marks each in biology, chemistry and either physics or mathematics or a foreign MCAT with a minimum score of 500/528. 
  • Equivalence by IBCC (in case of foreign qualification).
  • Minimum 70% marks, in HSSC or F.Sc (Pre-medical) or equivalent examination having a minimum of twelve years of education.
  • Minimum 70% Aggregate – MBBS.
