IT exports recorded at $1.231 billion
Pakistan's Information Technology and IT-enabled Services export remittances comprising of computer services and call center services recorded export of 1.231 billion dollar at a growth rate of 23.71 percent in the financial year 2019-20.

In a tweet the Ministry of IT and Telecom, said, the fiscal year 2019-20 has been a great year for IT & ITeS Export, 1.231 billion rupee has been recorded in IT & ITeS export at a growth rate of 23.71% as compared to the FY 2018-19.

According to performance report of Pakistan Software Export Board, an organization under Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, IT Industry had been a star in Pakistan’s economy and had achieved positive year on year growth as a result of strong government support, skilled entrepreneurs and a talented workforce.

Former PM's close aide Shahzad Akbar's name placed on ECL

The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Both names were included in the ECL based on cases pertaining to a private housing scheme. The cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, received a briefing from the Climate Change Ministry on the effects of climate change in the country. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday said that "no one can snatch away jobs given by the parliament", vowing to appeal a Supreme Court verdict that declared a PPP-era law unconstitutional and illegal. Under the PPP-era Sacked Employees (Reinstatement) Ordinance Act (SERA) 2010 law, a number of people had been employed or given promotions who had been forcibly sacked from various institutions and departments by successive governments during 1996 and 2007. The SC, however, found that the SERA extended undue advantage to a certain class of citizens, thereby violating fundamental rights under Articles 4, 9 and 25 and being void under Article 8 of the Constitution.
