Dozens killed, thousands injured in Beirut blast

Authorities expect the loss of life to ascend after immense blast tears through Lebanon's capital.

Lebanese specialists have said 78 individuals have been killed and somewhere in the range of 4,000
injured in a gigantic blast at the port in the capital, Beirut.
The blast on Tuesday sent shockwaves over the city, causing boundless harm even on the edges of the capital.
The reason for the blast was not promptly clear. Authorities connected the blast to somewhere in the range of
2,700 tons of seized ammonium nitrate that were being put away in a stockroom at the port for a long time.
Lebanese President Michel Aoun amassed the nation's High Defense Council following the blast.
