Meeting with PM Imran Khan will be held soon, Jahangir Tareen

akistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Jahangir Tareen said his meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan will be held soon.

Talking to the media after appearing before the session court in the sugar scam case, Tareen said he has a long-standing relationship with PM Imran Khan which is not weak.

The PTI leader went on to say that baseless FIRs have been lodged against him, and a civil case has been turned into a criminal case. He stressed that he will get justice from the court as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government had also sent him tax notices but no allegation was proven.

He said the entire group that supports him wants to meet the premier, not any committee, to discuss the matter. “A day before Iftar dinner hosted for the group, contact was established from Islamabad,” Tareen said and added that he was assured of meeting with PM Khan in few days.

Jahangir Tareen said as many as 40 assembly members are supporting him.

Last week, it emerged that efforts underway to establish contact between Prime Minister Imran Khan and PTI leader and Jahangir Tareen.

According to sources, some ministers in the federal government made back-door contacts with Jahangir Tareen and are trying to mediate between the two of them.

The Opposition has decided to jointly move a no-confidence motion against National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, sources said Wednesday, after two days of ruckus in the Lower House. The development came during a meeting of Opposition party leaders in Islamabad, where they decided to form a committee that would draft a plan of action to move the no-confidence motion. Former PM's close aide Shahzad Akbar's name placed on ECL

The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Both names were included in the ECL based on cases pertaining to a private housing scheme. The cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, received a briefing from the Climate Change Ministry on the effects of climate change in the country. Pakistan rejects illegal grant of IOK domicile certificates to Indians

Pakistan has categorically rejected the grant of domicile certificates of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK) by the Indian authorities to reportedly 25,000 Indian nationals. In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said that the certificates issued to non-Kashmiris including, among others, the Indian government officials under “Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure), 2020” are illegal, void and in complete violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and International law including the 4th Geneva Convention.
