PM Imran launches Rehmatul-Lil Alameen (SAW) scholarship program
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan Thursday launched the Rehmatul-Lil Alameen (SAW) scholarship program in Islamabad.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, PM Imran Khan lauded the efforts of the Punjab government for introducing the Rehmatul-Lil Aalameen (SAW) scholarship program.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him was the greatest human being in history, Whoever follows his footprints is blessed by the Almighty Allah, he added.

Imran Khan reaffirmed the commitment to build Pakistan as a great nation on the State of Madina’s principles of rule of law and focus on education.

He noted that no nation can make progress without education, adding that present government is especially focusing on the education sector with the aim that our youth learn from the Sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Salam Khatim-un-Nabiyeen.

A budget of 27.93 billion rupees has been approved for this national-level program which will be used in the next five years. The program will be implemented in one hundred and twenty-nine public sector universities across the country.

The program will help the students of underprivileged segments of society access undergraduate education.

The provinces are also pursuing the Rehmatul-Lil Alameen (SAW) scholarship program. In Punjab, the annual budget of one billion rupees has been approved for this scholarship program.

The Rehmatul-Lil Alameen (SAW) scholarship program will also be rolled out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for which the budget allocation will be 427 million rupees.

Sindh govt seeks army's help in implementation of coronavirus SOPs

The government of Sindh has sought help from the Pakistan Army in implementing coronavirus SOPs as cases of the virus surge across the country. The provincial government has written to the Ministry of Interior, seeking the army's help for the civil administration under Article 245 of the Constitution. Sindh government said it would inform the interior ministry about details regarding troop employment and equipment after holding consultations over the matter. Taliban declare war in Afghanistan over, call for peaceful relations with world

The spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban on Monday declared that the war in the country is over, saying that the group desires peaceful relations with the world. North Korea imported more than 1 million facial masks and 15,000 pairs of rubber gloves from China in July, shortly before declaring victory over Covid-19, Chinese trade showed on Saturday. Pyongyang last week declared victory over the coronavirus, ending a little-detailed fight against “fever” cases that had risen to 4.77 million. It has registered no new such cases since July 29. Still, China exported 1.23 million facial masks to North Korea in July, worth $44,307, surging from 17,000 the previous month, according to data released by Chinese customs. From January to July, the last month for which data is available, the North bought more than 11.93 million masks from China, data showed.
