Students among 22 people killed in Ukraine plane crash
At least 22 people were killed when a military aircraft carrying air force cadets crashed in eastern Ukraine, officials said.

The Antonov An-26 aircraft crashed while trying to land during a training exercise in the city of Chuhuiv in the Kharkiv region, the civil defence authority in Kiev said. Two seriously injured survivors were recovered from the wreckage of the plane.

A total of 28 people, including seven crew members and 21 cadets from the Air Force University, are said to have been on board the aircraft when it crashed on the approach to the runway. The remaining passengers are believed to have been died.

Kharkiv Governor Alexei Kuchera posted a message on Telegram saying there were survivors and confirming there were dead. He said he was on his way to the site.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he would visit the site today (Saturday). The Ukrainian military also confirmed the crash on Facebook. The cause of the crash was initially unclear.

At least six people lost their lives in rain-related incidents on Friday as heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in Karachi, bringing up the toll in three days to 14. Following a rain forecast, different areas of the port city continued to receive moderate to heavy showers under the influence of a monsoon system that is present over Karachi. The most rain was recorded in the Gulshan-e-Hadeed neighbourhood, which received 94.7mm of rain during two spells. Four soldiers were martyred in North Waziristan's Hassan Khel area during an exchange of fire with terrorists who attempted to infiltrate into Pakistan from Afghanistan in the night between March 23 and March 24, the military's media affairs wing said on Thursday. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a group of terrorists tried to infiltrate into Pakistan at midnight, but their attempt was foiled due to the "alertness and timely response of army troops". Former PM's close aide Shahzad Akbar's name placed on ECL

The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Both names were included in the ECL based on cases pertaining to a private housing scheme. Pakistan rejects illegal grant of IOK domicile certificates to Indians

Pakistan has categorically rejected the grant of domicile certificates of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK) by the Indian authorities to reportedly 25,000 Indian nationals. In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said that the certificates issued to non-Kashmiris including, among others, the Indian government officials under “Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure), 2020” are illegal, void and in complete violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and International law including the 4th Geneva Convention.
