Foreign flights diverted to Muscat due to fog in Karachi
Two international flights scheduled to land in Karachi have been diverted to Muscat due to heavy fog on Thursday.

The airport administration said that the flights of foreign airlines were not given permission to land at Karachi airport due to fog causing poor visibility. A flight was arriving from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Karachi and the other flight was coming from Sri Lanka. Both flights have been diverted to Muscat.

Moreover, dense fog has also disrupted the flight schedule from Karachi to Islamabad and Lahore. The domestic flight operation has been restored after improved visibility at the Karachi airport.

According to the Met Department, thick fog engulfed open areas of the metropolis while the foggy conditions are likely to continue in Karachi for the next two days during morning hours. The mist reduces visibility to 1.5 kilometres in Karachi, whereas, the level of humidity in the air is 93 per cent.

The minimum temperature recorded on Thursday at 12ºCelsius and maximum temperature in the daytime could go as above as 28º Celsius today. Northeasterly winds are blowing in the city at a speed of 15 kilometres per hour.

Four soldiers were martyred in North Waziristan's Hassan Khel area during an exchange of fire with terrorists who attempted to infiltrate into Pakistan from Afghanistan in the night between March 23 and March 24, the military's media affairs wing said on Thursday. Saudi authorities have released a princess and her daughter who had been held without charge for nearly three years in the capital, a human rights group said on Saturday. The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Pakistan rejects illegal grant of IOK domicile certificates to Indians

Pakistan has categorically rejected the grant of domicile certificates of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK) by the Indian authorities to reportedly 25,000 Indian nationals. In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said that the certificates issued to non-Kashmiris including, among others, the Indian government officials under “Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure), 2020” are illegal, void and in complete violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and International law including the 4th Geneva Convention. The spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban on Monday declared that the war in the country is over, saying that the group desires peaceful relations with the world. The statement comes a day after the Afghan Taliban entered Kabul as President Ashraf Ghani left the country, saying he wanted avoid bloodshed and conflict.
