One killed, three injured by cops in Faisalabad
A young man was killed and three others injured in Faisalabad's Dijkot area after failing to stop at a checkpoint.

A spokesperson for the police department said the young men were instructed to stop the car at a checkpoint but they had sped off. The police officers opened fire at the vehicle which resulted in the death of one while three others got injured.

The body and injured were shifted to a local hospital.

The incident sparked protests and riots in the area with the victim's family burning tires. Following which, four police officials were arrested and an investigation was initiated.

Police said an incident report has been filed against the four officers on a complaint by the victim's brother.

According to the report, the vehicle ran over ASI Shahid Rasool's toes and the victim, Waqas, sped away in fear as the police officers took out their guns. The policemen chased and stopped the car and fatally shot Waqas.

Four soldiers were martyred in North Waziristan's Hassan Khel area during an exchange of fire with terrorists who attempted to infiltrate into Pakistan from Afghanistan in the night between March 23 and March 24, the military's media affairs wing said on Thursday. Saudi authorities have released a princess and her daughter who had been held without charge for nearly three years in the capital, a human rights group said on Saturday. Former PM's close aide Shahzad Akbar's name placed on ECL

The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Pakistan rejects illegal grant of IOK domicile certificates to Indians

Pakistan has categorically rejected the grant of domicile certificates of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK) by the Indian authorities to reportedly 25,000 Indian nationals. In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said that the certificates issued to non-Kashmiris including, among others, the Indian government officials under “Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure), 2020” are illegal, void and in complete violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and International law including the 4th Geneva Convention. The spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban on Monday declared that the war in the country is over, saying that the group desires peaceful relations with the world. The statement comes a day after the Afghan Taliban entered Kabul as President Ashraf Ghani left the country, saying he wanted avoid bloodshed and conflict.
