Pakistan aims 1MN Vaccination in a day after record doses administered
Pakistan on Wednesday crossed another milestone after Minister for Planning and Development and head of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) Asad Umar said that the country vaccinated 778,000 people in a day, breaking the previous record, reported.

Taking to Twitter to share the news, the NCOC head said that they have set another daily vaccination record after 778,000 people were vaccinated in a day on Tuesday.
He further shared that the record of most first dose vaccinations was also broken the other day after 561,000 people received their first jabs. Asad Umar announced that they are now targeting to cross 1 million vaccinations in a day.

On July 25, Asad Umar said that by end of August at least 40 percent of the eligible population in major cities will be vaccinated against COVID-19.

In a tweet on Sunday, he said that the process of vaccination will be accelerated in August.

The spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban on Monday declared that the war in the country is over, saying that the group desires peaceful relations with the world. Amid ongoing attacks by militants, Afghanistan on Tuesday launched its coronavirus vaccination drive with the hopes of inoculating thousands of Afghans against the disease that has wrecked havoc in the world. The government of Sindh has sought help from the Pakistan Army in implementing coronavirus SOPs as cases of the virus surge across the country. The provincial government has written to the Ministry of Interior, seeking the army's help for the civil administration under Article 245 of the Constitution. North Korea imported more than 1 million facial masks and 15,000 pairs of rubber gloves from China in July, shortly before declaring victory over Covid-19, Chinese trade showed on Saturday. Pyongyang last week declared victory over the coronavirus, ending a little-detailed fight against “fever” cases that had risen to 4.77 million. It has registered no new such cases since July 29. Still, China exported 1.23 million facial masks to North Korea in July, worth $44,307, surging from 17,000 the previous month, according to data released by Chinese customs.
