Corona psoitivity ration falls below 5 percent in Pakistan
Pakistan has reported 2,512 new COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours at the positivity rate of 4.4 per cent, ARY News reported on Saturday, quoting National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

According to the latest NCOC figures, COVID-19 has claimed 63 more lives across the country during the said period, pushing the overall death toll to 27,135.

The daily tests conducted during the period to determine COVID-19 infections were 57,077 out of which 2,512 turned up positive.

Overall 1,129,562 people have recovered their health back from the pandemic, including 3,610 in the past 24 hours.

The number of critical patients stands at 5,117. The COVID-19 positivity rate remained 4.04 per cent during the last 24 hours.
Sindh remains the worst-hit province with 449,349 COVID-19 cases, followed by Punjab with 420,615 infections.
Islamabad has registered 103,923 cases so far, while 170,738 cases have been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Balochistan has registered 32,722 cases. Azad Jammu and Kashmir 33,682 cases and GB has reported 10,232 infections so far.

Pyongyang last week declared victory over the coronavirus, ending a little-detailed fight against “fever” cases that had risen to 4.77 million. It has registered no new such cases since July 29. Still, China exported 1.23 million facial masks to North Korea in July, worth $44,307, surging from 17,000 the previous month, according to data released by Chinese customs. Western sanctions against Russia could cause the International Space Station to crash, the head of Russian space agency Roscosmos warned on Saturday, calling for the punitive measures to be lifted. According to Dmitry Rogozin, the sanctions, some of which predate Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, could disrupt the operation of Russian spacecraft servicing the ISS. The government of Sindh has sought help from the Pakistan Army in implementing coronavirus SOPs as cases of the virus surge across the country. The provincial government has written to the Ministry of Interior, seeking the army's help for the civil administration under Article 245 of the Constitution. Sindh government said it would inform the interior ministry about details regarding troop employment and equipment after holding consultations over the matter. Pakistan Army on Monday continued its relief and rescue operation in Karachi, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the Army personnel removed rainwater from underpasses located at Golimar, Golimar and KPT, adding that these underpasses have been reopened for traffic. However, the dewatering process was continued in various areas inundated with rainwater, read the statement. Monsoon rains add to Karachi’s woes, kill two youngsters

A powerful monsoon system formed in the Arabian Sea caused torrential downpours in various parts of Karachi Sunday evening, but it claimed the lives of two youngsters. According to the police, a woman and her three-month-old daughter fell into a flooded nullah in the Buffer Zone area while they were passing through on a motorbike. The woman was rescued in an unconscious state, while a search for her daughter was initiated.
