Pakistan records 81 more corona deaths within a day
81 more people succumbed to the novel coronavirus while 1,897 new patients were reported across the country during the past 24 hours.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the nationwide death toll rose to 27,327 after 81 patients died of the virus.
A total of 46,231 samples were tested during this period, out of which 1,897 turned out to be positive, showing a national positivity rate of 4.1 per cent.

The NCOC data showed that there are a total of 4,846 active cases in the country.
On Sept 20, the NCOC allowed COVID vaccine jabs to be administered to breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women.

In fresh directives, the country’s top platform managing response to COVID-19 said that the COVID vaccine is safe and effective for breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women.

“The vaccine could be administered at any phase of the pregnancy,” it said adding that it does not affect issues pertaining to giving birth to a child in a mother.

The Opposition has decided to jointly move a no-confidence motion against National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, sources said Wednesday, after two days of ruckus in the Lower House. The development came during a meeting of Opposition party leaders in Islamabad, where they decided to form a committee that would draft a plan of action to move the no-confidence motion. Former PM's close aide Shahzad Akbar's name placed on ECL

The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Both names were included in the ECL based on cases pertaining to a private housing scheme. Four soldiers were martyred in North Waziristan's Hassan Khel area during an exchange of fire with terrorists who attempted to infiltrate into Pakistan from Afghanistan in the night between March 23 and March 24, the military's media affairs wing said on Thursday.
