Lahore, Army Chief attends the inauguration ceremony of SH15 Artillery Guns

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has attended the induction ceremony of SH-15 self-propelled artillery guns in the Corps of Artillery.

While addressing the ceremony the COAS remarked, "Induction of these most modern guns with increased range, battlefield mobility and accuracy would assuredly enhance operational preparedness of Pakistan Army”. He further expressed satisfaction on induction of this state of the art weapon system to meet the future battlefield challenges.

The army chief s also visited the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), where he was received by university’s Vice-Chancellor Dr Arshad Ahmad Malik and faculty members.

During his visit to the university he said that, "Pakistan is blessed with dynamic and talented youth," as quoted by ISPR, as he interacted with the students.

The army chief further added that human resource development, innovation and technological advancements were vital for progress.

Chief of the Army Staff also said that misinformation and propaganda by  inimical forces  threatens national cohesion and must be identified and countered collectively through a unified response, according to a press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations on Tuesday.

Joint Opposition to move no-confidence motion against NA Speaker Asad Qaiser

The Opposition has decided to jointly move a no-confidence motion against National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, sources said Wednesday, after two days of ruckus in the Lower House. The development came during a meeting of Opposition party leaders in Islamabad, where they decided to form a committee that would draft a plan of action to move the no-confidence motion. Yesterday's proceedings in the NA marked the "darkest day for democracy in Pakistan's history," the Opposition leaders observed, according to the sources. Low payments by fed govt hampered development in Sindh, CM Murad tells Bilawal Bhutto

Former PM's close aide Shahzad Akbar's name placed on ECL

The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Both names were included in the ECL based on cases pertaining to a private housing scheme. The cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, received a briefing from the Climate Change Ministry on the effects of climate change in the country. Lahore Qalandars defeated Peshawar Zalmi by four wickets in their first match of this year's Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament at the National Stadium in Karachi on Sunday. Pakistan rejects illegal grant of IOK domicile certificates to Indians

Pakistan has categorically rejected the grant of domicile certificates of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK) by the Indian authorities to reportedly 25,000 Indian nationals. In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said that the certificates issued to non-Kashmiris including, among others, the Indian government officials under “Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure), 2020” are illegal, void and in complete violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and International law including the 4th Geneva Convention.
