NA Speaker Asad Qaiser resigns

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has resigned from his post.

According to media reports, he has resigned amid a political turmoil stemming from the promulgation of no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

 In his last address to the floor he said that ‘our first priority must be Pakistan’.

He said the PM is fighting for the country’s sovereignty. He invited Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader Ayaz Sadiq to assume the charge as speaker before leaving the house.
