Over Rs4 per litre hike proposed in fuel prices by Ogra from June16
Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Monday proposed a hike in fuel prices by over Rs4 per litre for the next 15 days starting from June 16.

According to details, a summary has been moved from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) to the petroleum division for approval, seeking an increase in petrol prices by Rs4.20 per litre.

The authority has suggested an increase in diesel prices by Rs3.50 per litre.

It further emerged that the fuel prices have been hiked while maintaining the levy currently applied to these products. Currently, a levy of Rs4.80 per litre is being charged on petrol and Rs5.14 per litre on diesel.

Any final decision in the hike in petrol prices would be made after approval from Prime Minister Imran Khan, who had previously rejected such hikes multiple times.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on May 31 turned down a proposal by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for an increase in prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days.

A notification in this regard was issued from the Finance Division.

The current price of petrol stands at Rs108.76 per litre, whereas the per-litre prices of diesel, kerosene oil, and light diesel are Rs110.76, Rs80, and Rs77.65.86, respectively.

The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Both names were included in the ECL based on cases pertaining to a private housing scheme. Pakistan rejects illegal grant of IOK domicile certificates to Indians

Pakistan has categorically rejected the grant of domicile certificates of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK) by the Indian authorities to reportedly 25,000 Indian nationals. In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said that the certificates issued to non-Kashmiris including, among others, the Indian government officials under “Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure), 2020” are illegal, void and in complete violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and International law including the 4th Geneva Convention.
