Syed Khursheed Shah, son released on parole to attend funeral
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah, son released from prison on Tuesday on parole to attend the funeral prayers of his nephew, reported.

The former Opposition Leader in National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah, who was in Jail, submitted an application seeking his release on parole, which was approved by the Sindh home department.

The veteran leader along with his son MPA Farrukh Shah has been released on parole for 48 hours to attend the funerals.

The PPP leader and 17 others had been indicted in assets beyond income case.

Shah, his two sons and wives were among 17 other indicted in an Rs1.24 billion assets reference. He was presented before an accountability court in Sukkur on Monday.

The anti-graft watchdog had filed assets beyond means reference of Rs 1.24 billion against Syed Khursheed Shah and 17 co-accused.

The accountability court had granted bail to Shah in December, last year after the accountability bureau’s delay in filing reference against him. However, the Sindh High Court (SHC) Circuit Bench Sukkur later suspended the accountability court’s bail orders.

The Opposition has decided to jointly move a no-confidence motion against National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, sources said Wednesday, after two days of ruckus in the Lower House. The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Both names were included in the ECL based on cases pertaining to a private housing scheme. Four soldiers were martyred in North Waziristan's Hassan Khel area during an exchange of fire with terrorists who attempted to infiltrate into Pakistan from Afghanistan in the night between March 23 and March 24, the military's media affairs wing said on Thursday. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a group of terrorists tried to infiltrate into Pakistan at midnight, but their attempt was foiled due to the "alertness and timely response of army troops".
