A constitutional petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the lifelong disqualification of Nawaz Sharif and Jahangir Taree.

A petition has been filed by the President of the Supreme Court Bar Ashan Bhoon against life disability in which it was stated that the principle of life disability should be applied only in electoral disputes.

The petition contends that the Supreme Court cannot conduct its affairs as a trial court under the power of Article 184/3. Contrary to the principles of justice.

The petition states that lifelong disability without the right of appeal it is also a violation of the fundamental rights of voters, disqualification without the right to appeal is a violation of fundamental rights.

The Supreme Court, in its judgments, fixed the parameters for the application of Article 62F, Article 62
