Pakistan confirms 6,540 new COVID-19 cases, 12 more deaths

12 more deaths from Corona in Pakistan
In Pakistan, 12 more people died and 6,540 new patients were reported in the last 24 hours due to corona. According to the Corona statistics website (covid.gov.pk) in Pakistan, 58,902 corona tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, out of which 6,540 people were diagnosed with coronavirus, while another 12 died from the virus.

According to the official portal, the positive cases of corona in the country during the last 24 hours were 11.10%.According to NCOC, the number of deaths from corona has risen to 29,077 across the country, while the number of people affected has reached 1,360,19.

 In addition, 1,119 people recovered from Corona in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people cured by the epidemic to 1,267,598 in the country.

Western sanctions against Russia could cause the International Space Station to crash, the head of Russian space agency Roscosmos warned on Saturday, calling for the punitive measures to be lifted. Pakistan Army on Monday continued its relief and rescue operation in Karachi, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the Army personnel removed rainwater from underpasses located at Golimar, Golimar and KPT, adding that these underpasses have been reopened for traffic. However, the dewatering process was continued in various areas inundated with rainwater, read the statement. The Army personnel were also shifting vehicles trapped in rainwater to safe locations and removing other obstacles from the major thoroughfares in order to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city. Sindh govt seeks army's help in implementation of coronavirus SOPs

The government of Sindh has sought help from the Pakistan Army in implementing coronavirus SOPs as cases of the virus surge across the country. The provincial government has written to the Ministry of Interior, seeking the army's help for the civil administration under Article 245 of the Constitution. Sindh government said it would inform the interior ministry about details regarding troop employment and equipment after holding consultations over the matter. President Dr Arif Alvi Thursday signed the Election (Amendment) Bill, 2021, which had earlier been passed by the Parliament and asked opposing voices not to be afraid of “simple” electronic voting machines (EVMs) which he hoped would help in holding a fair election and bringing an end to rigging. “People will have to trust it.
