FM Qureshi welcomes pakistan india cease fire agreement
Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi has welcomed the agreement of strict observance of the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India along the Line of Control (LoC) and other sectors, on Thursday.

Exclusively talking to ARY News, FM Qureshi termed the development as a positive omen and urged India to strictly follow the ceasefire agreement.

He said that Pakistan has been highlighting the ceasefire violations at all international forums from the Indian side, which has claimed the lives of many innocent people. “It is a positive development if India sticks to it.”

Qureshi maintained that the situation in Indian occupied Kashmir worsened after the August 5 move by Modi government. India is facing humiliation at all international forums after stripping the special status of IoK.

Earlier, the Director-General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India have agreed to address each other’s core issues and concerns, which have the propensity to disturb the peace and lead to violence.

According to ISPR, the two Director Generals of Military Operations held discussions over the established mechanism of hotline contact.

The two sides reviewed the situation along Line of Control and all other sectors in a free, frank and cordial atmosphere.

Both sides agreed for strict observance of all agreements, understandings and ceasefire along the LoC and all other sectors, with effect from last midnight.

Six more die in rain-related incidents in Karachi

At least six people lost their lives in rain-related incidents on Friday as heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in Karachi, bringing up the toll in three days to 14. Following a rain forecast, different areas of the port city continued to receive moderate to heavy showers under the influence of a monsoon system that is present over Karachi. The most rain was recorded in the Gulshan-e-Hadeed neighbourhood, which received 94.7mm of rain during two spells. The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Four soldiers were martyred in North Waziristan's Hassan Khel area during an exchange of fire with terrorists who attempted to infiltrate into Pakistan from Afghanistan in the night between March 23 and March 24, the military's media affairs wing said on Thursday. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a group of terrorists tried to infiltrate into Pakistan at midnight, but their attempt was foiled due to the "alertness and timely response of army troops".
