NAB approves plea bargain of Rs21bn in fake accounts case
In a major development in fake bank accounts case, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday approved a plea bargain of Rs21 billion from an accused

According to the drop scene of occupying government lands in fake bank accounts case, builder Ahsan Illahi has admitted to his crime.


NAB stated that Illahi after occupying the Sindh government and Pakistan Steel Mills lands planned to build a residential society after giving a bribe of Rs35million to Director General Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA).

Ahsan with the help of his frontman Aftab Pathan got an allotment of 562acres of government land in Malir Bin Qasim in exchange for 29 acres of private land. But according to the law private land cannot be exchanged with government-owned land.

Furthermore, Rs300 million were returned to the 356 affectees of the society.

The plea bargain of the accused was approved by Chairman NAB Justice retired Javed Iqbal.

Former president Asif Ali Zardari, chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, his aunt Faryal Talpur, former chief minister Qaim Ali Shah, provincial minister Anwar Siyal and others are among as many as 172 accused in the fake accounts case.

Former PM's close aide Shahzad Akbar's name placed on ECL

The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Both names were included in the ECL based on cases pertaining to a private housing scheme. The cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, received a briefing from the Climate Change Ministry on the effects of climate change in the country. Pakistan rejects illegal grant of IOK domicile certificates to Indians

Pakistan has categorically rejected the grant of domicile certificates of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK) by the Indian authorities to reportedly 25,000 Indian nationals. In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said that the certificates issued to non-Kashmiris including, among others, the Indian government officials under “Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure), 2020” are illegal, void and in complete violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and International law including the 4th Geneva Convention.
