Petrol prices in Pakistan to remain the same in March
The prices of petroleum products will remain the same for the month of March, according to Prime Minister Imran Khan's aide on political communication Shahbaz Gill.

Gill, in a post on Twitter, said that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority had recommended an increase of Rs6-7 per litre but PM Imran Khan turned it down.

"The government has made no increase in the prices of petroleum products," he said, also attaching the summary that had been forwarded to the premier by the Finance Division for approval.

The summary showed that an increase of Rs6.22 had been recommended for Petrol, of Rs6.82 for High Speed Diesel, of Rs6.37 for Kerosene and of Rs5.78 for Light Diesel Oil.

The prices had been based on the notified petroleum levy and standard sales tax @ 17%.

The Opposition has decided to jointly move a no-confidence motion against National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, sources said Wednesday, after two days of ruckus in the Lower House. The development came during a meeting of Opposition party leaders in Islamabad, where they decided to form a committee that would draft a plan of action to move the no-confidence motion. The federal cabinet amended the Exit Control List (ECL) on Tuesday on the recommendation of the Interior Ministry, removing 22 names from the no-fly list and adding 10 people to it, while giving a one-time permission to three people to leave the country. Those added to the ECL included Shahzad Akbar, who served as adviser on interior and accountability to former prime minister Imran Khan, and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem. Both names were included in the ECL based on cases pertaining to a private housing scheme. Four soldiers were martyred in North Waziristan's Hassan Khel area during an exchange of fire with terrorists who attempted to infiltrate into Pakistan from Afghanistan in the night between March 23 and March 24, the military's media affairs wing said on Thursday.
