FM Qureshi arrives in Turkey
Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi has reached Turkey on an extensive diplomatic mission to draw global attention towards the fast-deteriorating situation in Palestine.

FM Qureshi has reached Turkey on the special instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to a statement, the foreign minister, along with foreign ministers of Sudan, Palestine and Turkey will leave for New York to attend United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

FM Qureshi will address an emergency session of the United Nations General Assembly to reaffirm Pakistan’s support for the cause of oppressed Palestinians.

During his stay in New York, Foreign Minister Qureshi will hold important meetings with different key figures and talk to international media and present Pakistan’s stance over the situation in Palestine.

Addressing the National Assembly session on Monday, Shah Mahmood Qureshi had strongly condemned the Israeli aggression.

People in western counties were also staging rallies in solidarity with the Palestinians, he had said and hoped that the European Union will also raise its voice against Israeli brutalities in Palestine.

Speaking on the floor of the NA, he had announced to observe the coming Friday as a day of solidarity with the people of Palestine and to condemn Israeli aggression against them.

The government of Sindh has sought help from the Pakistan Army in implementing coronavirus SOPs as cases of the virus surge across the country. The provincial government has written to the Ministry of Interior, seeking the army's help for the civil administration under Article 245 of the Constitution. Sindh government said it would inform the interior ministry about details regarding troop employment and equipment after holding consultations over the matter. The spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban on Monday declared that the war in the country is over, saying that the group desires peaceful relations with the world. The statement comes a day after the Afghan Taliban entered Kabul as President Ashraf Ghani left the country, saying he wanted avoid bloodshed and conflict. North Korea imported more than 1 million facial masks and 15,000 pairs of rubber gloves from China in July, shortly before declaring victory over Covid-19, Chinese trade showed on Saturday. Pyongyang last week declared victory over the coronavirus, ending a little-detailed fight against “fever” cases that had risen to 4.77 million. It has registered no new such cases since July 29. Still, China exported 1.23 million facial masks to North Korea in July, worth $44,307, surging from 17,000 the previous month, according to data released by Chinese customs. From January to July, the last month for which data is available, the North bought more than 11.93 million masks from China, data showed. North Korea did not import any Covid-19 prevention and control products from China in May, the data showed. The euro , seen as vulnerable to a Federal Reserve hike especially if European rate rises lag, dropped 0.4% on Thursday and was steady in Asia at $1.1297.
